Andrea Frank is a therapist specializing in counseling for individuals, couples, adolescents and families, and maintains a private practice in Stevensville, Maryland.
She works concurrently as a mobile crisis therapist assisting individuals in their communities with mental health challenges or crises of any kind ranging from family conflicts to suicide. Formerly of Johns Hopkins Community Psychiatry program where she worked with children ages 4-18 and their families, Andrea is passionate about family, advocating for children and parents and helping them develop healthy coping strategies for better life balance and overall performance. She is also a certified grief recovery specialist and former adjunct faculty member at Anne Arundel Community College's Parenting Center.
Andrea's counseling background is complimented by years of work in higher and secondary education along with management at a large software company. This allows her to bridge her business experience to assist career minded individuals (and those considering a career change) to seek work that they enjoy and that matches their core values. She looks forward to working with business partners to ensure healthy communication and thus healthy business practices. She has experience establishing boards of directors and trustees, creating corporate best practices and fundraising from annual appeals to capital projects. She has also been a personal and professional coach.
One of Andrea's passions is assisting people in transition. Whether it's enduring a rough life adjustment, enabling couples to cultivate a long lasting marriage, preparing to send their children to college or strategic planning for caring for aging parents, she enjoys the personal fulfillment that allows clients to be their best advocates and set boundaries successfully - personally, academically and professionally. She assisted with the launch of the Parenting the Middle School Child Program at Anne Arundel Community College which won national recognition and enjoys working with middle schoolers and their parents to address puberty and bullying challenges as well as peer pressure.
Andrea holds a BA from Millersville University of Pennsylvania and an MS in Counseling from West Chester University of Pennsylvania which is complimented by advanced training at Johns Hopkins University for licensure study. She is a Maryland licensed clinical professional counselor, holds a certification from the Grief Recovery Institute and is a member of the American Counseling Association. Andrea is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client.
